Calamity Amelie

Calamity Amelie is a Core Model. For information about booking her or any of our models just write to info@thecore.nu

At first glance, Calamity Amelie may remind you of the classic pinup girl. A sweet and innocent face and curves that kill, but with a personal style adding latex and fetish combined with her poise and grace she has managed to modernize the pinup look by making it her own.
Calamity Amelie gives us a peak inside her world as she gives us a deep and reflective interview which leaves you only wanting more. She is unmistakably a star who is one of a kind.

CALAMITY AMELIE

Model of the Month Interview

Tell me a bit about yourself. Who is the girl under the makeup?
I am a girl who grow up in a small town right outside of Stockholm where I still live when I'm not traveling. I like being creative, play old school video games, bake sweet stuff, and spend time with my wonderful friends. An important thing in my life is personal improvement which means I work a lot on getting to know and understand my thoughts, feelings, and actions better. Unfortunately, I had a rough childhood and grew up in a dysfunctional family, and I believe it's very important for me to be connected with myself. I'm not sursprised when I hear that many fetish models have a similiar background as me, and it's just not a coincidence. I believe you need to be connected with yourself to be truly happy doing the risque kind of modeling.

Is Calamity Amelie a version of yourself? How did you come up with that name?
Calamity is the untamed, voluptuous, bad-ass alter ego I had to evolve to prevent being as crazy as Tura Satana in Faster Pussycat. Kill! Kill! I wouldnt say its a version of myself, it's just a role I enjoy to play. I got the name from the old cowgirl Calamity Jane which lived in the old wild west. She used to act very manly and dress up like a man, but she was also a hero.

How long have you been a model? Is this something you always wanted to be when you grew up?
I never really dreamed about being a model, it feels like it just happened. Photographers had been asking me for 1-2 years if i wanted to do a photo shoot, and I was afraid I would be dragged into drugs, bulimia, and the shallow industry. I did my first shoot the year i turned 16, and now when i look back i acted kind of cocky about it. But I'm more down to earth nowadays.

What made you decide to come to Nocturnal Models Agency?
I simply felt it was the right agency to go to since I already was interested in alternative modeling.

What would you say is your personal style as a model?
I'm mostly into pinup and fetish modeling. I like the way old fashioned pinup is more teasy yet innocent and not so in your face as todays glamour models. I also believe that sexuality is a very important part of life which you shouldnt feel ashamed for, which I want to express as a fetish model.

Where do you get your clothes for your shoots?
I buy most of my clothes on ebay, or I do collaborations with different designers such as Morgana Femme Couture and Jane Doe Latex. I also make my own pasties and accessories, since I like being crafty I usually pimp my clothes with diamonds, ruffles, latex appliques, etc. As a model I think it's important to have at least a basic wardrobe but also something else that pops in pictures. I wouldn't be where I am right now if it wasn't because I put a lot of effort and money in my own things that I wear for shoots.

You're a burlesque dancer as well as a model. Where did you learn to do this and what made you want to start?
I "slipped on a banana peel" at the Hootchy Kootchy club after talking to Karin, one of the girls who started the club. I don't feel graceful at all, and I've been having a big stage fright during my entire life. I decided to start doing burlesque performance to overcome the fright, and I'm still too shy to do solo performances, haha. We are a little troop with a bunch of girls and guys which come up with different performances usually suited for the club, but we've been doing shows outside of the club as well. I've been doing it for a little more than a year.

You travel quite often and work with many different photographers. Tell us what you've been up to lately.
I'm currently traveling all over America and Asia to backpack and meet people, but I also brought a suitcase full of high heels and corsets. People at hostels are pretty amazed when I show them some of my stuff, haha. I take the chance to work with some amazing photographers, stylists and designers while I'm around, and I really enjoyed working with Viva Van Story over in New Jersey. She's one of my favourite pinup photographers and we work great together! Even though I stayed with her for almost a week, we still didnt manage to shoot all the ideas we had. My images shot by her will be showed at the Dirty Show erotic art expo in Detroit this February.

If someone wants to get into alternative modeling, what is your advice to them?
I think it goes for modeling in general, but what I find important is to be able to get into different roles with different expressions. You need to be able to smile and look cute, as well as look fierce, crazy or just natural. I'm a very expressive person who naturally have a lot of facial expressions going on, but I suppose it's a good thing to practice in front of a mirror.

What's been the most rewarding experience you've had since you began modeling?
Modeling opened up my artistic mind again after a big gap of time when I wasnt inspired to do things like drawing, sculpturing, being crafty. It annoys me that I stopped being creative because I was considered as a dork by my friends as a young teenager. Seeing other peoples' work is very inspiring and rewarding for my own visions and ideas.

Surely a question on everyone's minds: are you single?
I just met someone when I least expected to, which kind of turned my world upside down.. but in a good way. (smiles) I'm very satisfied at the moment!

A fun question. If you could have a dinner party with any 4 people in the world, who would they be and why?
Steven Tyler, the King of Sweden, Megaman and Munspelsmannen (a guy usually seen on the streets of stockholm being crazy). Great mix of people with different stories to tell!

Any final words for your fans?
I'll be published in the american magazine Car Kulture Deluxe soon. And can someone send me a package of creamed macaronies with nutmeg and swedish falusausage?
