National beauties compete in a TV game show.
Absolutely abysmal, obviously. A bunch of awful men leer at women in bikinis, who are all there willingly to take part in "Bikini Showdown", an apparently popular "game" show. The host, particularly, is repellent, doing little but insulting the women and telling the lamest sexist jokes.
The surprising bit is the presence of pretty excellent surf-rock band the Ultramatics, who are lost to the mists of time? (there's an Ultramatic MCs - also excellent - and another Ultramatics, which makes searching for them difficult). They're in it so much, and don't remotely fit the action, that someone involved must have been a fan, or the producer was also their manager, or something.
Total early 90's boob-schlock. I watched the Rhonda Shear hosted USA Up All Night taping. Less boobs, more Rhonda. Can't complain.
Bikini Mania is Real
This is such a utterly bizarre movie. It is just enough of a T&A movie to have some purpose but tame enough to make it onto USA Up and Nite where I watched it. Rhonda Sheer and all the old commercials are the only decent things here. They were really pushing the Sega Saturn back in 1996 but my favorite were the kids commercials for things like Zoobooks because let’s face it the only people staying up until 2 in the morning to watch the second USA Up All Nite feature were super caffeinated teens. Back in the day women in bikinis and the slim chance of some blurry nudity was what you got if you…
eh, the girls are cute and the band is alright. Early 90s surf rock revival is always gonna get at least a star from me. The other star is due to an absolutely insane POV sex scene played for creepy laughs instead of to be horny and boy howdy does it deliver in the "uncomfortable to be watching this" arena.
Wild Malibu Weekend! starring some Playboy and Penthouse models and the guy from Flesh Gordon!
Sounds like a good time right? Eh, kinda...
What we have here are a bunch of hot chicks in bikinis on a game show where they play stupid games in their bikinis to win some cash and a role in a Hollywood movie.
Most of the movie takes place on the game show itself, Bikini Showdown. Incredibly long, boring scenes of girls in bikinis playing stupid games. The scenes not on the game show try to introduce a little bit of character to these girls, a little backstory and plot, but it's all abandoned as soon as the scene is over and never brought up…
